Clipart Challenge

Several fabulous clipart artists and bloggers have come together for an amazing Clipart Challenge hosted by Primary Possibilities!  Each blogger is featuring a clipartist and a product they made using that artist's images!  This is a great way to discover new clipart creators for your summer creations.   So keep reading, and following the linky at the bottom, to head on to the next post!  You may even pick up some freebies along the way!
I was so fortunate to be paired with Sarah, from the The Hazel Owl.  This sweet gal does it all!  She is a special education teacher, wife, mother, self-taught graphic artist, and newish blogger. You can follow her blog, be the first to hear about special offers, and get word about the release of new products by visiting her blog, The Hazel Owl.

Now, I have been a follower of hers for some time.  She has such a sweet drawing style, and an eye for color that I just love.  So I was super excited to get the chance to go through her store again.

The Hazel Owl

After perusing for several days...yes, days (I just couldn't decide!)  I asked for her Short E and Short I Clip Art sets...

... and she, in turn, offered me the complete Short Vowel Clipart Bundle!  How generous was that?  Thanks again, Sarah!

One thing I love about Sarah is, that she usually includes the line art (blackline) with her color clipart sets.  I dislike buying these separately, and really appreciate that it is all included for a reasonable price.

Want a peek for yourself?  Here are a few of my favorite freebies from her store!

So anyway, I took the clipart she sent me and made a quick little activity for my struggling readers.  For the last two years, I have taught the second graders who are reading one or more years behind grade level.   I love it because I see so much growth in these kiddos during the year.  These readers often struggle with phonemic awareness.  These task cards are to be used to 10 practice segmenting the sounds of a spoken word and 2) isolating the initial, medial, and ending sounds of a spoken word.  I hope you like them and find them useful.  You can download these for FREE through Sunday, June 9, 2013, by clicking on any of the images below.

Aren't those graphics just darling?  You have to check out The Hazel Owl.  Absolutely LOVE her, and her store!

Looking for more phonemic awareness activities? Follow me on Pinterest.

See ya!

    1. Thanks, Brittney! Building a blog following definitely takes time. I have had a blog for over a year and barely just hit 500. I think you are on the right track: comment on other blogs, try to post regularly (this is my downfall), join linky parties etc... It will happen. Keep the faith.
